What do you need before booking a training?

Before booking onto the Streetdance Teacher Training Programme it's important to check if it's right for you

In order to attend the Streetdance Teacher Training Programme, you need to have either:

	1. A strong foundation as a Streetdancer

	OR

	2. A strong foundation as a dancer

What do we mean by a strong foundation as a Streetdancer?

By this we mean you are not a novice to Streetdance but have attended various classes and understand what Streetdance is and are competent at the skill.

This is because in order to teach Streetdance you need to be able to Streetdance! (obvious, we know!) On the programme we will be teaching you the skills needed to ‘teach’ Streetdance, and working on your already established skill of being able to Streetdance. On the programme you will be given feedback on your Streetdancing style and the majority of the programme will focus on your skills as a Streetdance teacher not a Streetdance performer.

What do we mean by a strong foundation as a dancer?

By this we mean you are not a novice to dance but have attended a variety of dance classes and are a competent dancer. If you have a strong foundation as a dancer this will stand you in good stead for the programme as you will understand elements of dance such as choreography, counts and the ability to move to music. You cannot be a novice to dance.

What kind of background would be useful for this programme?

If ANY of these describes you:

	If you have attended Streetdance courses at Fresh Vibes

	If you have attended regular Streetdance classes at a reputable dance school

	If you have a dance background with at least one year’s dance training

	If you have attended a full time dance course (A-level dance, Dance diploma or Dance degree etc) and now want to specialise in Streetdance.

	If you have experience as a dance teacher (not necessarily Streetdance)

	If you have experience as a Streetdance assistant or dance teacher assistant

	If you have an aerobics background i.e. Exercise to Music Qualification etc

	If you have experience as a professional dancer
